Terms of Service
Effective date: May 2026
By creating an account or using Dawn Phase, you agree to these terms. Please read them. They are written in plain language.
1. What Dawn Phase is
Dawn Phase is a personal cycle and hormone tracking app. It lets you log your period start dates, daily symptoms (flow, mood, energy, sleep, and more), and view predictions based on your cycle history. It also offers a perimenopause tracking mode with relevant symptom categories.
Dawn Phase is a software service, not a medical device. See Section 4 for the full health disclaimer.
2. Pricing
- Free to use: Dawn Phase is free. Creating an account and using cycle tracking, symptom logging, insights, and data export costs nothing, and no payment method is required.
- Optional paid features: We may introduce optional paid features in the future. If we do, the price and terms will be shown clearly before you choose to pay.
- Payments: Any future payments would be processed by Stripe. Dawn Phase never sees or stores your card details, and Stripe's own terms apply to payment processing.
3. Your account and data
- No subscription to cancel. Dawn Phase is free, so there is nothing to cancel and no billing period to manage.
- Close your account anytime. You can delete your account from the Settings page at any time. Deleting your account removes your data from our active database.
- Export your data. You can export your cycle and symptom history at any time as a CSV file or a doctor-ready PDF from the Settings page.
4. Health disclaimer
Dawn Phase is a wellness and self-tracking tool. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and does not provide medical advice.
The cycle predictions, phase estimates, and symptom insights provided by Dawn Phase are based on statistical averages and your personal logged data. They are estimates intended for general informational and self-awareness purposes only. Actual cycle events may differ from any prediction shown in the app.
Dawn Phase is not a contraceptive method, a fertility-awareness method, or a fertility-treatment tool. Do not use Dawn Phase to prevent pregnancy or as a basis for any family-planning decision. No information in the app should be relied upon to determine fertile or non-fertile days for the purpose of avoiding or achieving pregnancy.
Consult a qualified healthcare provider for any medical decision, including decisions related to your menstrual health, contraception, fertility, pregnancy, perimenopause, mental health, or medication.
If you experience severe symptoms, unusual changes in your cycle, or any health concern, contact a qualified healthcare professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number — do not rely on the app.
5. Your responsibility for health decisions
You are solely responsible for any decision you make about your own health, body, fertility, contraception, pregnancy, medication, diet, supplements, or activity, whether or not that decision was influenced by information shown in Dawn Phase. You agree that:
- You will not treat any prediction, phase, insight, tip, or content in Dawn Phase as medical advice, a diagnosis, or a substitute for consulting a qualified healthcare provider.
- You will independently verify any health-related information with a licensed clinician before acting on it.
- You will not use Dawn Phase to determine whether you can safely have unprotected intercourse, to prevent pregnancy, or to time attempts to conceive without separate professional guidance.
- You will seek medical care promptly for any symptom that concerns you, regardless of what the app shows.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Dawn Phase is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- Dawn Phase, its operators, contributors, and affiliates are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages — including but not limited to unintended pregnancy, missed pregnancy, missed diagnosis, delayed diagnosis, medical complications, emotional distress, lost data, or lost profits — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service, or from any reliance on information provided through the service.
- You acknowledge that cycle predictions are inherently uncertain and may be inaccurate, particularly for irregular cycles, perimenopause, post-pill cycles, anovulatory cycles, or any individual variation. You accept the risk that any prediction shown may not reflect what actually happens.
- To the extent any liability cannot be excluded by law, our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Dawn Phase is limited to the amount you paid to Dawn Phase in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to use Dawn Phase only for its intended purpose: personal cycle and symptom tracking. You agree not to:
- Attempt to access another person's account or data.
- Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to interact with the service.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the application.
- Use the service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law.
- Attempt to overload, disrupt, or compromise the security of the service or its infrastructure.
Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email at least 14 days before the new terms take effect. Continued use of Dawn Phase after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Dawn Phase operates. Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of that jurisdiction, at our election.
